About the Ministry Identity (MI)
To represent the history, tradition, and future vision of the South Korean government, the taegeuk mark was used as a symbol that form a unified consensus among the public.
A unified symbol of government is implemented as per the Announcement on the National Flag (presidential announcement).
The taegeuk mark maximizes the unique characteristics of South Korea through the combination of blue, red, and white colors and the clean image of taegeukgi (Korean flag). The open shape also symbolizes the forward-looking attitude of the South Korean government toward the citizens, the world, and the future.
With a modern interpretation, the font is a more sophisticated version of the Jeongeumche, the font used in the creation of Hangeul. It promotes harmony with the taegeuk mark and supports the supreme authority held by a symbol of the government.
